Report from the 2007 NAMM ShowAnaheim, CA
The DeMars Guitars booth downstairs in Hall E again became a hotbed of activity all four days of the 2007 NAMM Show in Anaheim CA. Visitors such as Will Lee (The David Letterman Show), Alain Caron (noted fretless bassist), John Montagna (Alan Parsons Project), Leland Sklar (studio bass legend, Phil Collins, James Taylor), Derrick Murdock (The Tonight Show Orchestra) and Carl Verheyen (Supertramp, studio guitarist), all stopped by to give our instruments a play. Additionally, noted bassists Randy Jackson (Journey, American Idol) and Stanley Clarke demoed our Long Trail Bass upstairs on the main floor of the Anaheim Convention Center. It was nice to finally meet Jim Rubio from Atlanta Bass Gallery, the dealership that sold the first Long Trail Bass Guitar last year. New at the DeMars Guitars booth this year was the 5-string (35" scale) Long Trail Bass Guitar (fretted or fretless) as well as the nylon-string version of the Viridis Guitar. The bass was featured upstairs also at the Epifani Sound System booth where it garnered some major attention. The bass was also extensively demoed by Mark Wright of AccuGroove, who played our fretless 5-string through their killer cabinets at the AccuGroove booth. Gear review editors from Bass Player, Bass Guitar and Bassics magazines all expressed their interests in reviewing the Long Trail Bass Guitar in upcoming issues of their respective magazines. Keep an eye out for the Long Trail Basses in these great magazines and on their websites as well. The DeMars Guitars line was also picked up by a noted Japanese distributor who will be integral to the introduction of these instruments to Asia. |
